Le Couleur, a trio that, as per Brooklyn Vegan “take elements of disco, electro and francophone styles, add a bit of glitter and voila: an appealing, danceable sound”, is based in Montreal.
For the main part their songs are in French and they bring to mind the kaleidoscopic soundscapes of Sébastien Tellier and the energy of Yelle. The sweet sound of Laurence Giroux-Do’s vocals flies over the trio’s analog synth sounds. After experiencing critical success in several countries with 2013′s Voyage Love EP, they followed that release with worldwide touring in 2014. Their catchy, super melodic and intimate sound, propelled them to the top of the french sung electronic pop.
The Canadian trio went for a gig in New York on February 24, 2015, for the release of their first EP, Dolce Désir. This first date at Piano’s (NYC) was a success and was followed by dates in Canada (Toronto, Montreal).
