The ambitious creation of Parisian multi-instrumentalist Pablo Padovani, Moodoïd’s psych pop songs know no borders in time or geography. The son of cult jazz player Jean-Marc Padovani and guitarist for Melody’s Echo Chamber, Padovani’s psychedelic terrain is one evoking the spirit of Tropicalia’s exhilarating experimentation, the fractured-pop tropes of Connan Mockasin, and the freedom of 70s French prog namely Gong. Moodoïd’s wild arrangements are rife with exuberant flair, taking a lot of liberties but never nearing self-indulgence. The album follows the release last year of their acclaimed Kevin Parker (of Tame Impala fame) produced self titled debut EP which showcased the multiple talents and obsessions of its leader: psychedelism, glam rock, world music and experimental pop.

Moodoïd Reveals Exclusive New Track via Brooklyn Vegan “Le Lac d’Or” ft. Melody’s Echo Chamber
Premiering today via Brooklyn Vegan, “Le Lac d’Or” (“The Golden Lake”) is the latest offering from the avant artist, whose globally-tinged psych pop knows no borders in time or geography. The new single features Melody’s Echo Chamber vocalist Melody Prochet and will be available digitally March 16th.
The track will also see two physical releases; it appears on the new limited edition vinyl repressing of Moodoïd‘s debut album Le Monde Möö (produced by Nicolas Vernes: Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, Dearhunter, etc) and on an upcoming Burger Records tape (release date TBA) featuring “Le Lac d’Or” plus four tracks from Moodoid’s 2013 self-titled debut EP (mixed by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker). Both the album and the EP are available – sans “Le Lac d’Or” – now in digital format.
