French nominees for THE GRAMMYs
On January 28th, the Grammys are coming to New York City, and with 7 nominations, France will be well represented throughout the categories.
Cheers for Jain “Makeba” who will be running for Best Music Video, Tinariwen’s ‘Elwan” nominated for Best World Music Album and Raul Midon whose « Bad Ass And Blind » is up for Best Jazz Vocal Album.
French classical and contemporary music will also be part of the competition. Alexandre Tharaud with “Barbara” and producer, filmmaker Benjamin Bleton for « Les routes de l’esclavage” are both nominated for Best Classical Compendium. Philippe Jaroussky’s « Bach and Telemann » and Barbara Hannigan’s “Crazy Girl Crazy” are up for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album. Finally, Louis Langree with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra will enter the competition for Best Orchestral Performance with their album “Concertos for Orchestra”.
